Manoram Cave Pond Sankhuwasabha – the capital of Gurans

Tinjure, Milke and Jalaj, the main attraction of the region, after reaching Guphapokhri, the beauty of the Himalayan scenery and Gurans forest will delight the mind. Gufapokhari is named after the well-known pond of this place at an altitude of 2890 meters above sea level.

The water in the pond is so pure that no text/kiting can be seen there. According to the locals, if something falls or falls in the pond, the golden colored bird picks it up and throws it out. The same bird does not allow anything to fall into the pond, says Hariprasad Khanal, a local elder.

Out of 32 found in Nepal, 28 species of birds are found in this area. The Confluence Caves of Tinjure, Milke and Jaljale are also the mineral points of Terathum and Sankhuwasabha districts. This place of Noondhaki 9 of Sankhuwasabha is always popular because of domestic and palace tourists. Residents of the western village of Taplejung, northern Rasankhuwasabha of Tehrathum and southern villagers travel through this pond route. You will reach Basantpur in Tehthum by car and from there you will reach Guphapokhri after observing the Gurase forest for about 5 hours. More than 10,000 tourists go rafting in the Kaveli River that flows between Taplejung and Panchchar, climb the Annapurna Himal and study the biodiversity of the Gurans region every year. In winter, the lake freezes with snow. During this time, local children run on the frozen water in the pond. Youngsters from Ithari, Dharan, Dhankuta, Basantpur, Tehrathum, Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha, Sunsari, Dharan, Dhankuta, Sunsari to play in Guphapokhari, where there is more snowfall. Menchem Hill, which is connected to Jamaghat Cave Pond, is full of other features. You can see the sunrise from this place to see Pathibhara Devi of Taplejung. Most of the young people who have reached Gufapokhri have already reached Menchem Danda to watch the sunrise at 3 o’clock in the morning.

There is another Deurali village along with Guphapokhri. About 70 families live in these villages. The main occupation here is selling consumer goods to domestic and foreign tourists and running a hotel. According to Pasang Sherpa, a teacher of Gufapokhri Pravi, 70 families of Gufapokhri, the capital of Gurans, have been making a living by doing small business because of Menchem Hill. In this place, where there is no other government office such as district police, health, animal, agriculture, post office, water supply, only small branches are being made operational. The construction of the highway connecting Gufapokhari has been completed. Vehicles have started running from Basantpur in Tehrathum on the unpaved road.
