Nageshwar

नागेश्वर महादेव गुफा, पाँचखपन

Nageshwar Mahadev Cave is located at Nageswari in Syavon, Joubari, situated at the foothills of the Jaljala Himal of Sankhuvasabha. According to the myth, a shepherd’s cow went missing, but no matter how hard he searched, he could not find it. One day after 6 months of disappearance, a cow was found in Nameshwari Cave, offering milk by herself. After that, the cowherd brought his cow home on the condition that he would always offer cow’s milk and perform regular puja there. Mahadevthan was established after regular worship started.

According to another myth related to this, a Hull hunters came to this place in search of prey. A wild boar was found looking for prey but they all ran away. The hunters chased the boar but could not find it anywhere. After getting tired, they stayed in the same cave where Nageshwar Mahadev is now. Mahadev said in the dream – You cannot find the boar you are looking for because I have brought you here as a boar for a while. This is my cave, I live here, so if you worship me regularly, you will be well. After that, a Mahadevasthan was built there and regular worship started.

Inside that cave, there are cow’s udders made naturally from stone and from there they used to continuously fill with streams of milk. But when a greedy man put his mouth on it and drank the milk, the milk stopped coming. Nowadays, only rain like chaulani falls.
