Mangaladevi Temple, Khandbari

According to the myth related to Mangaladebi Temple in Mudulechaur, Khandbari, a woman named Mangaladebi Magar of Tinkhopre Magargaon reached Mudulechaur carrying her little son in her arms. There was an archal plant that had blossomed and blossomed. Seeing Archal looking at him and wanting to eat, she thought of feeding that Archal’s son and eating it herself, so she placed a crow at the foot of the same tree and climbed the tree to pick Archal. Just then, a tiger came from nowhere and snatched the cub from the shell and ran to a nearby katus tree. The woman screamed in panic and hurriedly climbed down from the tree to save the child, but suddenly her leg slipped and she fell down from the tree. Thus, after the untimely death of both mother and child, they became Vayu. A few days later one of the crocodiles of that place had a strange dream.

In the dream, the same Magrani woman said that due to the untimely death of me and my son, we are both Vayu. Now I want to be the kuldebi of Magars. Therefore, at the foot of Archal, I will make a place for Mangaladevi and worship it from a Magar priest, and also make a Vayudhana for my son at the foot of Katus. From that, you will all be well, the value of goods will increase, people’s diseases will go away, and crops will flourish. Worship pigeons, chickens, goats, piglets every Tuesday. Don’t worship the magars here even when they are in the juthosutak. After that, doing as told in the dream, Mangaladebi Than was established at the foot of Archal and Vayupadhan was established at the foot of Katus. Mangaladebi attained the status of Kuldebi of the Magars.
