7-Day Makalu View Trek
Makalu View Trek is a short and easy trail perfect for those who want to see Mt. Makalu (8,463m) and nearby peaks like Mt. Chamlang (7,319m), but don’t have enough time to reach Makalu Base Camp.
The route offers beautiful views of the Himalayas and goes through villages of Gurung, Rai, and Sherpa communities. You’ll also see cardamom farms along the way. Teahouses are available throughout, so food and accommodation are not a problem.

Itinerary
Day 1: Khandbari (1036m)
Fly 30 minutes from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. Take a 15-minute jeep ride to Khandbari, check into a hotel, explore the local bazaar, meet your guide and porter, and rest overnight.
Day 2: Trek to Chichila (2000m)
Start trekking after breakfast. Walk 4–5 hours through Manebhanjyang, Arunthan, Sekaya, Bhotebas, Gogane, and reach Chichila for overnight stay.
Day 3: Trek to Num (1500m)
Trek 3–4 hours through Sagrate, Hururu, Deurali, and Mude to reach Num. Overnight at a tea house.
Day 4: Explore Num
Visit a local school or hike 2 hours to Arun Dobhan to see the Arun-3 Hydropower Project. Return to Num for the night.
Day 5: Drive back to Khandbari
Return by jeep and explore Khandbari market. Optionally visit a school, hospital, or project supported by the organization.
Day 6: Explore Khandbari
Spend the day exploring Khandbari and buying local souvenirs. Visit any local institution supported by the organization.
Day 7: Return to Kathmandu
After breakfast, drive to Tumlingtar Airport and fly back to Kathmandu.
